Giving Back
Peter Drivas is involved in Downtown Los Angeles and the Los Angeles community.
Peter Drivas believes that we should give back to the community where we live work or play. When he moved to Los Angeles he got involved in a non- profit organization called Art Share. They have after school programs for high school students. They must attend high school and get passing grades to participate in the programs. They offer classes in dance, theatre, painting, sculpture and photography .
Being an amateur photographer and having won photography competitions over the years Peter challenged the photography class. They did a photo essay of Downtown Los Angeles. They had a show at Art Share to raise money and it was one of the most successful shows ever. Peter has been a participant in the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce fundraisers and Janet’s Circle for Entrepreneurs joining in the fight to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Most recently Peter has participated with the Boyle Height Community Technology Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
The reward of giving back led Peter to create his own non-profit foundation: The Los Angeles Arts Alliance (LAAA) is a non profit 501 © (3) organization designed to provide financial support beyond the means of public funding to enhance art and culture programs that increase awareness, build bridges and unify communities.
